About SVFC
From 32 preschool learners in 2001 to a multi-level educational institution, SVFC has grown alongside the families and young people of Camarin.
Established in 2001
St. Vincent de Ferrer College of Camarin, Inc. began as St. Vincent de Ferrer Academy, Inc., a private educational institution led by a family of educators. Its purpose centered on widening access to affordable, responsive education for learners in the community.
That purpose guided the school from basic education into high school, government-supported access programs, tertiary education, and a broader range of professional pathways.
A purpose that endures
The institution set out to make education more accessible while responding to the social and economic needs of Camarin.

Support the national goal of bringing more Filipinos to school.
Offer programs responsive to the needs and livelihood of the surrounding community.
Encourage continuing education suited to an emerging industrial society.

Milestones
Humble beginnings
Originally conceived as a basic education institution with technical and trade-skills preparation, the academy welcomed 32 preschool pupils in its first operation. Enrollment rose to 105 the following year and exceeded one thousand learners by its third year as elementary and high-school levels expanded.
A defining milestone
The first graduating class completed high school in March 2006, strengthening recognition of the institution’s academic work. By June, enrollment had reached more than two thousand learners as the school participated in the government’s Education Voucher System decongestion program.
Expanding horizons
Seeing that many out-of-school young people wanted to pursue college but lacked access, the Board of Trustees opened the tertiary level with initial programs in accountancy, information technology, hospitality management, and teacher education.
Becoming SVFC Camarin
St. Vincent de Ferrer Academy, Inc. became St. Vincent de Ferrer College of Camarin, Inc. in 2007. The institution continued to broaden its specializations while working to prepare graduates with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed for business, industry, government, and community life.
